This is a handsome Group 4 Bruyere with saddle bit. Nomenclature is not strong. The 6 of the shape number 60 F/T is very hard to see. The rest is readable without eye strain. There are a couple of dark spots, one on the shank and the other on the bowl which are almost certainly from a hot cigar or embers in an ashtray. There is no charring on the inside of the bowl to indicate otherwise. There's some darkening on the rim and the front edge of the rim. It's a cross grain with nice birdseye on both sides of the bowl. There is a very small impression on the upper lip. Length: 5 3/8 Height: 1 3/4 Chamber: 3/4 Bowl: 1 1/2 Depth: 1 1/2 Weight: 1.4 ounces (28.3 grams/ounce) |
