This Group 4, Shape 104 F/T, Dunhill Root carries a very nice cross
grain with nice birdseye on either side of the bowl.  This pipe was
made during the period when Dunhill was getting its best and most
consistent briar.  The bowl is slightly canted and there is an oval
shank.  Very nice!  There's a toothmark indent on the upper lip but no
tooth marks on the stem itself.  The rim has some darkening and an
irregularity on the inner rim where there was some former charring.
The stem is original but the tenon has been replaced.
