E4172-1

This is a Ferndown in sheeps’ clothing.  Ferndown’s American distributor has a trademark on that name so for the European market, Les Wood is forced to use something else.  Sometimes “L. Wood”, sometimes “Les Wood” and “Star.”  If a Ferndown it would be called a Root.  The Spigot is Sterling, hallmarked LJS.

The finish shows very few signs of handling.  Silver is ding-free.  No toothmarks.  There’s a bit of residual darkening on the rim.  Chamber shows some evidence of hot smoking in the form of alligatoring, though there are no signs of same on the exterior finish.  On the close-up of the rim, there is a light spot at about 11:00.  I don’t know what it was but it isn’t there now.

Length:  6 3/4
Height:  1 3/4
Chamber:  13/16+
Weight:  1.8 Ounces
