I set out to make a Volcano that didn’t weigh a ton.  This one came in at 1.5 ounces and is beautifully grained.  The bottom of the bowl is the rough plateaux from the outer surface of the briar burl.  The stem is Lucite.  There is a fill at the bottom of the bowl, below the shank.  The problem popped up at the last minute in the process and I couldn’t bear to rusticate a pipe with such a gorgeous grain.  Comes with a nice suede leather bag.
